Alright, now that that order of business is out of the way, hi!

I figure I'll keep this once-a-month update thing going, at least for the time being. I'll probably update on Thanksgiving too, why not.

:bulletblue: School's going good. Finally finished all the pre-production for my short film, "Chips", so now I'm actually animating it. (Though I'm definitely not going to finish before end of semester...) For 3D Animation, I might be entering the 11 Second Club for the month of November...? And Illustration 3 is alright. I don't like the projects we're doing, but I'm liking the results I'm producing, so it evens out in the end I guess. With this next project (illustrating a map) I think I'm going to experiment with some traditional media for a change. We'll see how it goes!

Next semester is going to be interesting. As of this moment I'm going to be doing 18 credits (AHH!!). I'm going to be taking Animation Production Studio, Video Game Design (YAY), Digital Painting, Figure Drawing for Animators, Ornithology, and Professional Writing. It's going to be a lot but they also sound like really fun classes (except maybe Prof. Writing...).

:bulletblue: Digressing from school a bit... we got a new puppy at home! His name is Anuk ("Ah-nook") and he is a husky/shepherd mix. I haven't gotten the chance to actually meet him yet (2.5 WEEKS AHHHHH), but I get news updates about him a couple times a week and it sounds like he's doing really well with our other two dogs. You can see photos of him here: [link]

:bulletblue: Elements is on standby for now. Looking to work on it more over winter break, along with commissions and other stuff.

:bulletblue: To whoever is my Secret Santa for :iconskwinky:'s event:

I would love some Elements art (or prose, if you are a writer)! [link]

Or if you are more inclined towards drawing animals, any of my canine characters would be excellent as well! [link]

Thanks Santa!

:bulletblue::bulletblue::bulletblue::bulletblue::bulletblue::bulletblue::bulletblue:

Other than that, I have been sporadically updating my Art/Animation Blog if you wish to check that out.

Toilet Rice Comics posts once a day! 7 artists, 7 comics, 7 days of the week! Go check it out!

Thanks guys! Talk to you... probably over Thanksgiving!

October Update

70K, wtf you guys.

I can't believe it's been almost a diggidy-damn MONTH since I last updated. I mean, not that there's much to say, really. I just figured I'd update since I'm on Fall Break right now, so I'm back in Minneapolis visiting my mom and doggies until Tuesday morning C: Frikkin' snowing here, wtf.

School has been going rather well. Working slowly but steadily on my animated short (which doesn't have a name yet), finishing up both character concept art and the animatic. In 3D Comp. Animation, I'm working on character modeling and UV Mapping (aka painting textures onto a model), Illustration we just finished up a collaborative project with the Communication (Graphic) Design seniors (that was nuts let me tell you, the critique was horrible) and we're starting a new project, and then there's my American Cinema and Service Learning classes that no one really cares about. I get to volunteer at a wild bird rehab. center for SL, which is pretty cool. Other'n that that's all that's going on in the school department.

Outside of that I'm still working on Elements (not much as of the past week or so). I'm really trying to put the design aspects on the back burner for now and focus on the actual story and the major plot points and character relationships, as well as doing outside research on different series that have similar themes as Elements (X-men, etc.) Luckily I have an awesome writing coach to help me along. :)

Apart from that, I'll be taking icon and chibi commissions for this weekend! I adjusted the prices a bit, icons are now $8 instead of $10 (animated icons are $10, however). Let me know if you're interested!

ICONS - $8
CHIBIS - $10

That's all I got for now.

It's a mothaf*ckin' walk-off!

Hay guyth.

Dooooooooooood I have been so busy these past three weeks I'm just. Asdlkjflsk. Classes are going really well; I'm learning 3D animation in Maya and it's quite fun, and I'm making my own animated short that I'm super-excited about!

When I'm not doing that stuff, I'm either working on my Elements, aka my senior thesis (not till next year but I'm gonna nip it in the bud early), or I'm doing my community service stuff. Well, that's not exactly true, I haven't been to either of my service stations as of yet. Which could be problematic. D8 Also I applied for an animation internship but I don't expect to hear back from them for another month at least.

Uhhhherrrr yeah. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive.

OK and this new season of Project Runway sucks. I don't know if it's because of the network switch or if they just got really boring people this season and are running out of interesting challenges. And Nina and Michael are always missing. I think. I don't really remember. Anyway, it sucks and I'm re-watching all the old seasons to make myself feel better.

I'm a Computa! Stop with all the downloadin'!

Hey fellas, I am back at MIAD! I start classes in a few hours DDDDx Not looking forward to it at the moment, but I'll get over it.

This semester I have:

Illustration 3
Service Learning (community service and various other things)
Animation 3
3D Animation
American Cinema (which I'm REALLY excited for even though it's on Fridays at 8am)

I'm pumped for everything except service learning. But if I can find a good place to volunteer it shouldn't be so bad. I have a couple possibilities brewing around in my head, my first choice being to paint a mural at some community ed center. If not that, then I'm looking at humane societies and animal rescues, things like that.

Yeeey!

So yeah. Now that I'm back, updates will be infrequent. I'll try to put things up on weekends, etc.

To all those starting school in the next couple weeks, hope your first days (and the rest of your semesters) go very well!

Loss and lethargy

Hey guys,

This week hasn't been that great. Last weekend was wonderful, I got to go to Milwaukee and hang out with Liz and Alex. But as soon as I got back to Minneapolis everything just sort of went down the tubes. Pepper, my oldest dog (12), started to go downhill, and we had to put him to sleep Tuesday afternoon. Needless to say it was incredibly painful, and he will be greatly missed.

Ever since, I've been feeling very lethargic and uninspired. Most of my free time (and I'm starting to get less hours at work, so this free time is increasing) is devoted to watching Buffy and playing Pokemon Gold, and I don't much feel like doing art at the moment. I'm giving myself the rest of this week to feel bad, and then see if I can get back into the swing of things. Maybe I'll take some really cheap sketch and icon commissions again, we'll see.

Later today I'll be updating my Animation/Sketchblog with another Friday Feature, and later this weekend I'll see about putting up some more sketchdumps.

So yeah, that's what's going on over here and why I haven't been very active.

Talk to you guys soon!
